SMPC was founded by three senior engineers who spent over 15 years working at the heart of the pyroprocessing industry — from Thyssenkrupp Polysius through to FLSmidth. Rather than continue as employees, we chose to bring that expertise to the market independently, with the freedom to work in the genuine interest of our clients.

Meike Dietrich
Senior Process Engineer
Meike brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in pyroprocessing technology, having worked across the full project lifecycle — from process design and HAZOP studies through to on-site commissioning. Her technical expertise spans rotary kilns, flash calciners, multiple hearth furnaces, and shaft kilns across a wide range of mineral applications. She has led and executed numerous customer test work campaigns and is proficient in process simulation using METSIM. Her background combines rigorous engineering methodology with a strong field presence, having personally managed commissioning activities at multiple plants worldwide. Meike holds a Master of Engineering in Biochemical Process Engineering from TU Braunschweig and is fluent in German, English, and Spanish.

Lukas Bracht
Senior Process Engineer
Lukas brings nearly 20 years of hands-on pyroprocessing experience, with a particular specialisation in high-temperature applications, multiple hearth furnaces, and shaft kilns. Known for his practical, field-oriented approach, he has personally led commissioning activities and process audits across a wide range of thermal equipment — including rotary kilns, gas suspension calciners, and multiple hearth furnaces — for applications spanning magnesite, lime, phosphate, lithium ore, nickel, and chrome, among others. Lukas combines strong process engineering fundamentals — mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and HAZOP studies — with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and process challenges on-site. He holds a Master of Engineering in Environmental Process Engineering from TU Bingen and is fluent in German and English.

Manuel García
Founder & Managing Director
Manuel founded SMPC out of a genuine passion for pyroprocessing — a field he discovered during an early commissioning assignment and never left. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Zaragoza and brings over 15 years of industry experience spanning process design, equipment sizing, and advanced process modelling and simulation. His particular strength lies in mass and energy balance calculations and the application of simulation tools — including METSIM and AspenONE — to real engineering challenges. Before founding SMPC, Manuel led the Pyroprocessing product line at a leading international engineering company, overseeing thermal processing projects worldwide and driving research initiatives in green pyroprocessing technologies including hydrogen and oxyfuel applications. He is fluent in Spanish, German, and English.
